Jubilee Outreach Community Center, Inc.

Serving Our Community in the Oranges and Beyond

Originally founded and incorporated at Christ Church in East Orange, the Jubilee Outreach Community Center, Inc. (JOCCi) coordinates the many outreach programs of Epiphany and Christ Church. Our goal is to serve those most in need in our community, especially the food insecure.

In addition to working with other agencies that operate periodic health screenings at our site and two annual Christmas toy drives, JOCCi coordinates the activities of Epiphany & Christ Church parishioners, our interfaith partners and numerous community volunteers who provide meals and clothing to neighbors in need.

Our volunteers often share that they receive back far more than they give. Check some of our weekly services below and click the button to learn how to volunteer.

Tuesdays and Thursdays

Soup Kitchen

For the past 5 years, volunteers and friends gather every Tuesday and Thursday morning to prepare a fresh, hot meal for anywhere from 20 to 75 people. In 2017 we served delicious nutritious meals to over 2957 people.

Interfaith Food Pantry of the Oranges

A fully interfaith organization, the goal of Interfaith Food Pantry of the Oranges (IFPO) is to help to meet essential human needs of food-insecure residents of Orange and East Orange, NJ, with dignity and respect. IFPO has been serving residents of Orange and East Orange for 25 years, growing tremendously from a small group that initially served 20-30 clients per week. In 2017, IFPO had 9,300 pantry visits, serving nearly 30,000 people. IFPO averaged 225 clients per week. Fully 43 percent of recipients are children. Source: IFPO website.

Soup Kitchen & Pantry

The Saturday Soup Kitchen and Pantry has been serving our community for over 20 years. Now a coordinated effort of numerous volunteer community groups, in 2017 the Saturday Soup Kitchen and Pantry fed over 4,500 men, women and children and provided groceries to over 2,500 families and individuals. Another effort of this feeding ministry is a holiday meal at Thanksgiving and toys for children at Christmas.

Clothing Bank

For over 7 years we have operated a Clothing Bank. Open most Saturdays, the Clothing Bank provides gently used and new clothing year-round at no cost. In 2017 we provided over 6005 articles of clothing to over 1157 men, women and children.

The Clothing Bank operates most Saturdays and provides a range of clothing for adults and children.
